Rule #1: Be Consistent & Positive

Original Rule: “Love The One You’re With…”

When it comes to climbing the corporate ladder I’ve always believed “attitude pre-determines altitude.”

It’s always exciting when you’re the lead on a project or assignment; not so much when you’re doing “grunt work.” But teams made of all captains usually fail. In softball, everyone can't be the pitcher, someone has to play left field. When you’re on a team it helps when you approach your role- no matter how big or how small- with a consistently positive attitude. If you’re only happy when you’re the leader chances are your team isn’t.

Running reports may not be the most exciting job activity but being able to track progress and see improvements over time is priceless. Working out may not be fun in the middle of a set of burpees, but you stick with it because you know that consistency pays off and you will enjoy the results. And in both cases - people notice.

Me…serving all kinds of positivity!

Me…serving all kinds of positivity!

Approaching each task with positivity and consistent effort isn’t just about me – it’s a part of my contribution to my team. We’re all in this together. Positivity and consistency demonstrates loyalty and commitment. It shows I’m in the trenches with them and I want to help win the day for all of us. When my team knows this, they know they can count on me – that’s key in ANY meaningful relationship.
